Electrical Remodeling

A remodel is the right time to fix the wiring you can't see. We replace what's outdated and lay out lighting and outlets for how you live now.

Remodeling a kitchen, finishing a basement, or reworking a commercial space means the electrical has to keep up. We replace outdated wiring, relocate fixtures, add circuits for modern appliances, and install new lighting to match what you're building.

Old wiring, new loads

Kitchens especially have changed. Today's appliances need dedicated circuits an older house was never wired for. A remodel with the walls open is the cheapest moment you'll ever have to fix that.

Fixing what's already there

Older work turns up surprises. One customer who called us about a couple of outdoor receptacles had code violations from earlier work pointed out to them. We'll always tell you what we find, even when it means redoing someone else's work to bring it up to standard.

Lighting that's placed on purpose

Can lights, pendants, under-cabinet lighting, outlets where furniture will actually sit. We lay it out with you before we cut a single hole.

On price: every job gets an on-site look and upfront pricing before any work starts. Book online or call (218) 900-7771.

Nate did an amazing job with the electrical work in our unfinished walkout. The outlets and lighting are perfectly placed. He is very respectful and goes above and beyond to make sure that we were pleased with the results. He cleans up the area perfectly. Thank you from a very satisfied customer!

Fast and effective work! We've suffered for three years with strobing can lights and finally called 218 Electrical. Adam came out the next week, diagnosed a tricky problem and had it fixed the next day, along with several other things that bugged us for three years. Would recommend highly.

Questions

Electrical Remodeling FAQs

01 Should I update my wiring during a remodel?

If the walls are open, it's the best time. Running new circuits later means opening finished walls again.

02 My lights flicker or strobe. Is that a remodel job or a repair?

Usually a repair. One customer lived with strobing can lights for three years; it was a tricky problem, but it was diagnosed and fixed in two visits. See our troubleshooting page.

03 Can you work around my contractor's schedule?

Yes. Tell us where the project is and when drywall is planned, and we'll schedule around it.
